ABOUT US
The Act4C website is a tool for any and all organizations that are working on climate action across Colorado. We compile the events and opportunities that organizations submit to us to serve as a common location for organizations and the public to find events. We are seeking to provide a tool to the climate community to amplify the work that is being done and support the broader climate movement in reaching even more people.
We understand that “climate action” is a broad term: in order to have long-term sustainability, we recognize that there is an intersectionality between economic, social, and environmental issues. We aim to create an inclusive website that is welcome to all who are working to make our world more sustainable.

Check out the questions below and if you still have questions, feel free to contact us.
Who are we?
The Act4C website is co-founded by a small group of individuals concerned about climate and driven by a desire to support sustainable solutions. We developed the Act4C website as a tool for the climate community of Colorado, both individuals and organizations.
Why the name Act4C?
The 4 Cs for Act4C stand for Climate Community Convergence in Colorado. There’s amazing work being done by groups and coalitions across the state. Now, more than ever, we need to fight to keep the progress that has been made while continuing to make progress at all levels (local, county, and state) when it comes to climate. We are trying to map the sustainability landscape in Colorado (through the use of event locations, tags, and types of activities). By doing this for both organizations and events, we hope to foster collaboration opportunities, reduce burden on Colorado climate organizations, and elevate voices in the community.
How does the website work?
Organizations can fill out the form about being listed on the website. “Organizations” is a broad term: are you supporting climate work via events, planning support? A casual meet up or a national organization? All are welcome. Once an organization is listed, they can fill out the events form. While being listed on the website is not a requirement for filling out the events form, it does expedite the event approval process if we know who you are!
The creation of an organizational listing also allows you to create an organization ID, a token that is private and unique to your organization. Future events and updates to organizational information allow you to submit this ID to verify that it is actually someone from your organization that is requesting the change/posting the event.
Currently, organizations can email the Act4C team to ask for any information on your listing to be updated. We hope to release a new form soon that allows for organizations to update their own information. Organizations can always submit a form to update their information, and as new features come out on the website.
What is an organization committing to when they agree to be listed?
Act4C is designed to be a bridge to other organizations, collaborations, and climate networking. When you submit content on the site, you are doing so with the understanding that any individual, regardless of factors that pertain to their world view, are able to participate and support your event. Our purpose is to focus solely on sustainability events, discussion, and support. Our generic code of conduct is simple: be respectful, do not use profane language or hate speech, and website content must be at least climate/sustainability adjacent. We reserve the right to moderate website content and reach out to organizations about website conduct/content.
What types of events can be submitted?
Events are opportunities for the public to be involved. Do you have an action or campaign that needs more people (such as a public comment effort or an opportunity for direct action), an upcoming talk, or are participating in a tabling event? Great, we’d love to have it listed! The event form allows for recurring events.
How is the website funded?
This website is self funded. The direct costs of the website include hosting and website plug-ins to enhance user experience, resulting in a total of around $500 of overhead per year. Back-end development, support, and organization/event approval are all volunteer based. The co-founders of the website provided the seed for initial website funding and will continue to explore opportunities for sustainable long-term funding.
How can I get involved?
The founding members are committed to supporting the hub in its early adoption and initial growth stages, with an emphasis on it running smoothly. But in order to be truly long-term, we need additional support. If you or your organization is interested in supporting Act4C through volunteering time or offering other support, we encourage you to reach out via email.
